Coven 13

Artwork inspired by a really cool yet somewhat forgotten Detroit band, COVEN 13. Their 1987 Lp, "Worship New Gods" (released as just Coven, they would soon add the 13 to their name due to threats of being sued by the Indiana Coven of "Witchcraft: Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls" fame.) is an oft overlooked gem. The sound is hard to describe but depending on ones musical point of view I could see people classifying this as anything from heavy metal to traditional doom to deathrock. I can safely say it would appeal to fans of all genres. Considering how trendy goth and deathrock are becoming in the metal and punk scenes again, it's a shame that this band no longer exists. They could have ridden the wave to some success no doubt. As evidence of this, Shadow Kingdom records has recently re-issued "Worship New Gods" for the first time ever on CD! Get it here................. http://shadowkingdomrecords.com/index.php?action=news
Also, for more info on Coven 13 check out this excellent interview with the band conducted by the heavy metal freaks at The Corroseum, cheers to them for helping re-discover an obscure Detroit band for the world to hear.... http://www.thecorroseum.com/features/coven/index.html
